Four ways in, one modality, and the same first conversation regardless of which door you use. Everything here is by video, into Indiana and Illinois.
Individual therapy
This is most of what I do. One person, once a week to start, working on something specific that is not getting better on its own.
The people who come in for this are usually functioning. They go to work, they carry the load, and nobody around them would guess. What brings them in is a thing that has been running quietly for a year or three: a temper that is getting shorter, sleep that has stopped, a mood that flattened out and never came back, a decision they cannot make.
The work is cognitive behavioral therapy. We find the thought that fires before the feeling, get it out where it can be looked at, and then you go test it in your actual life. That second half is not optional and it is the part that changes anything.

Couples counseling
Two people, same hour. Not mediation, and not a place where I decide who is right, because that would be useless to both of you.
Most couples arrive with a specific fight they have had two hundred times, and the fight is never the subject. Underneath it is a pattern: one person raises things, the other manages the exit, and both of you have concluded something about the other that has never been checked out loud.
Marriage is an infinite game. It is not designed to end with a winner. So the question in the room is not who was right on Thursday. It is whether the two of you can hold a position at normal volume and still be in the same room afterward.
Therapy for teens
Older teenagers, generally, and usually because a parent noticed something and asked. That is a fine way to start and I will say so directly to your kid in the first five minutes.
Teenagers can tell instantly whether an adult is performing at them. So I do not. I am straightforward about what this is, what I will and will not tell a parent, and what we would actually be working on. Fit matters more here than anywhere else, and if I am not the right person I will say that too.
The work is the same CBT, at their pace and about their material: school, sleep, anxiety, a friend group that turned, a version of themselves they have decided is fixed.
Online therapy in Indiana
All sessions are held by video. That is not a compromise version of the work; it is how the practice runs.
In practice it means you are not driving across Evansville at 4:30 to sit in a waiting room. You close a door, you take the hour, and you go back to your day. For people who are holding a demanding job together, that difference is often what makes therapy possible at all rather than theoretically a good idea.
I am licensed in Indiana, so I can see you anywhere in the state on the day of the session.
Online therapy in Illinois
Same work, same modality, second license. If you are physically in Illinois when we meet, we are fine.
This matters more than it sounds like it should, because licensure follows where you are sitting, not where you live or where I am. People who split time across the state line ask about this constantly.
Indiana and Illinois are the two states I hold. If you are anywhere else at session time, I am not the right fit and I will tell you before you spend money finding out.
What is the same in all of them
One modality. Cognitive behavioral therapy, done properly, rather than a little of everything.
Self-pay only, with an out-of-network superbill if you want to submit it. A 48 hour cancellation policy.
And a first conversation that is about fit rather than paperwork. If we are not a match, that is a useful outcome and it costs you one short phone call to find out.

Next step
Pick the nearest door.
If you are not sure which of these you need, that is a normal place to start. Text or call and we will sort it out.
If calling is more than you want to do today, text.
