Online therapy in Indiana

Statewide by video. No drive, same work.

Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Bloomington, Terre Haute, Jasper, or a county road with a good signal. If you are in Indiana, we can meet.

01

Who this suits

People whose schedule will not hold still. Shift workers, drivers, parents with no childcare window, professionals whose only clear hour is between two obligations.

It also suits people in small towns where everyone recognizes the cars parked outside the local office. Privacy is a real reason and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

  • Individual therapy for adults.
  • Couples counseling, including partners joining from two different locations.
  • Continuity if you travel for work inside Indiana or Illinois.

02

The rules, plainly

I am licensed in Indiana and Illinois only. You must be physically located in one of those two states at the time of the session. If you drive to Kentucky for the day, we reschedule.

Video sessions are not appropriate for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.

Licensure follows where you are sitting, not where you are from.

03

What telehealth asks of you

Three things, and none of them are technical. A door that closes. An hour that is genuinely yours. A connection good enough that we are not repeating sentences.

The door is the one people underestimate. A session held in a kitchen with somebody moving around behind you is a session where you will edit yourself, and the editing is invisible to you while it is happening. If the house has no private room, use the vehicle. A parked truck in a quiet lot has worked for a great many men and there is nothing second-rate about it.

Headphones help more than a good camera does. They keep your side of the conversation yours, and they keep you from lowering your voice, which quietly changes what you are willing to say.

The hour matters as much as the room. A session squeezed between two obligations, with one eye on the clock and a call at the top of the hour, is a diluted session. Give it the whole hour and a few minutes on either side.

04

Where you are sitting is the rule

This trips people up, so here it is plainly. Licensure follows your physical location on the day of the session. Not where you grew up, not where your mail goes, not where your employer is headquartered, and not where I am.

So an Indiana resident sitting in an Indiana house is fine. An Indiana resident on a job in Illinois is also fine, because I hold a license there too. An Indiana resident on vacation in another state is not, and we reschedule rather than pretend otherwise. It is worth telling me when travel is coming up, so we can plan around it instead of canceling on the morning.

05

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits people who want the work and cannot spare the drive, people who want privacy, people who would rather use a lunch hour than an evening, and couples who are in two different places on a Tuesday and can both dial in.

It does not suit everybody. If you have no private space at all and no vehicle, video will fight you the whole way. If you are in an active crisis, this is not the right service and 988 is the right number tonight. And if you already know that you cannot be honest with a screen in front of you, say so on the phone and I will tell you plainly whether I think this can work.

06

The first session over video

You get a link. You click it a few minutes early, on a phone or a laptop, and you sit down.

The hour itself is mostly rapport and fit, not intake paperwork. I want to know what is happening, when it started, what you have already tried and what you want to be different. You will get asked direct questions and you are allowed to decline any of them.

By the end of it you will know whether you want to come back, which is the only question the first session has to answer. If it is not a fit, saying so is a good outcome, not a failure.

07

How it runs

Same length, same directness, same CBT structure. You get asked hard questions and you leave with something to do.

Same terms too: self-pay only, out-of-network superbill provided, 48 hour cancellation policy.

Scheduling happens by phone. Call (812) 760-5528 or send the contact form.

Questions about this

You have to be physically in Indiana or Illinois during the session. Licensure follows where you are sitting, not where your mail goes.

For most of this work, yes. The conversation is the same and the directness carries fine.

A private room, a door that closes, decent internet and headphones. A parked truck counts as a private room if it is parked.

Next step

Meet from wherever you are in Indiana.

Call, or send the form with the days that work.
