Why would I pay out of pocket to see you?
The goal is change.
I have over 20 years of experience bringing effective, meaningful, and significant change to people’s lives.
Were that not the case, I wouldn’t still be practicing.
Will my insurance pay for this?
How long is this going to take?
Two rules of thumb to consider:
One: these issues don’t get like this overnight, so it will take some time to resolve them.
Two: like most things, you get out of it what you put into it.
I will make the process manageable so that you can maximize the focused effort you put into and get a high return on that effort.
What if I don’t like you?
Be honest with yourself as to why you might feel like this.
Is it because being pushed into growth feels unpleasant, or is there truly a lack of rapport?
Change is work and we grow from positive stress. My job is to advocate for your highest growth.
Whether you like me is less important than whether you commit making change happen in your life.
Do I get to get pissed at you?
Absolutely! And you will.
It is important that you are honest about your frustration with me and the process.
Can we be friends?
The bond between therapist and client is a deep one.
There are ethical boundaries or limits put into place for your protection.
Please don’t ever take those boundaries personally. They are there to ensure you always, always have a safe place.
